Drawing water from the wells of salvation

August 5, 2020 Reading Time: < 1 minute

Isaiah 12:3 (NIV)

When the world is experiencing drought, you can experience God’s abundant, refreshing supply. Don’t look to the world and think you should expect the same fate. You are a child of God — deeply loved, completely cared for and always protected.

“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” (Isaiah 12:3; NIV)

  • It’s not our needs, it’s our faith
  • God wants us to talk with Him

God has already provided for you. No matter how bleak things may look, don’t give up hope. God is a God of hope and salvation. He is your loving Shepherd who will lead you into blessings.

Out of strength? God gives strength

May 12, 2020 Reading Time: 2 minutes

Do you feel weak and burned out? Yes, this life can sometimes take a lot of strength. There are so many demands on us. And sometimes it’s just “just” our sadness that seems to swallow all of our energy. But that’s not a problem if you are on firm ground. And it’s not a problem if you have a never-ending source of power to refill. Is there such a thing? Of course. God.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – God in Isaiah 41:10

So do you still need pills or drugs? No.
One or the other vitamin or supplement… why not? But your real power is made available to you by God. And you won’t find a better source of power in the entire universe.

Help from Your Creator

“I’ll help you,” says your Creator.
God doesn’t leave you alone.
The only question is whether we always seek His helpful intimacy by talking to Him about everything and realizing how close He is to us.
“I make you strong,” says your heavenly Father, who loves you.
So: If you feel weak and empty and helpless, then you can rely on your Creator. He gives you what you need… and much more.

Since God is the Creator of the universe, you also have the best of all the best resources available. More is not possible; it doesn’t get any better. Refuel! ‘My God, help me. I thank you for Your help. Give me new strength. Make me strong and strengthen my firm belief in You. Thank You.’

Note: Just a quick prayer to heaven instead of an ongoing relationship…? Doesn’t your Creator deserve more? Doesn’t God deserve your full attention? Doesn’t your loving Heavenly Father deserve most of your daily time? – The secret of this: the more we do that, the better off we are. Seek closeness to Jesus. Because Jesus gives superhuman strength.

Should we be sad when our fellow Christians die?

May 5, 2020 Reading Time: 2 minutes

Life here on earth is beautiful. Even if devils and demons try everything, but really everything to ruin it for us. But at some point our time is up. According to the Bible, for those who accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord, there is no cause for concern. On the contrary, if we die as newborn Christians, we will see everything we have “only” believed in before.

Desire for Heaven

Why do some Christians hold on to life here on Earth so tightly? In a nutshell: “… for many Christians, unfortunately, the subject of healing has become their entire religion, and they feel no desire for heaven at all. … If a Christian only wants health for the body and a long life, I have to ask: Do you have no greater hope? Is earthly well-being and happiness the goal of life for children of God? Then we had nothing more than the godless.” (Wolfgang Wegert, Foundations of the Faith, Hamburg, 2001, p. 94)

Reverence for God? Naturally.
But don’t be afraid

If a Christian doubts that all his sins are not forgiven, then it is not surprising that he feels fear at the thought of standing before God and Jesus. Accordingly, he clings vehemently to life here in order to postpone the time of death = being with God and Jesus as long as possible.

But we don’t have to be afraid of God or Jesus. We, as Jesus sheep, are forgiven of everything.

Reverence for God? Naturally. He is the Creator of everything. But no fear.
Jesus describes God and who He really is in the parable of the prodigal son; read it in Luke chapter 15, verses 11-32.

So when the time comes when we die, we can be happy because we have achieved our goal and can go home to our Father.

Let us not forget: We die (leave the temporary shell, aka body), so that we can have eternal life in wonderfully heavenly communion with God and Jesus. Not bad either: everyone else who accepted Jesus as their Savior during their lifetime is also there. And everyone is perfect. No more tears, no hitting, no stinging, no sin, no illnesses … a wonderful eternity that no one knows how to put into words. And you, you can enjoy them (and thank God, me too).

John 14:6 - I am the way, the truth and the life.

Where do you go when you die?

Question: Are you there too? Or in other words: Have you already accepted Jesus as your Savior? The Bible is clear: Whoever does not accept Jesus dies spiritually = eternal separation from God in hell. • Is hell eternal?

Misconception that not few people make: They think that only sinners go to hell, and since they are not a bad sinner, there is certainly somehow and somewhere an alternative for them. But this does not coincide with what God tells us in His word.

Everyone who does not accept Jesus as his Savior and Lord goes to hell. In this respect you have it very simple: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (Jesus in John 14:6; NIV) – do you believe that and turn to Jesus as your Savior and Lord? Or don’t believe it. There is no in-between. And after reading that now, you can’t even say afterwards, ‘Oh, I didn’t know that.’ So please choose wisely; it’s about your whereabouts forever. Those 60, 80, 90 years down here are nothing compared to that.

God delights in you and keeps renewing you

April 28, 2020 Reading Time: 2 minutes

Do we have to emphasize that sins are bad for us? It is because they harm us. Do we have to point out in particular that Jesus as our Savior forgives all of our sins? They are forgiven because the sacrifice of Jesus more than paid for our sins. His shed blood as the perfect sacrificial lamb has freed us from all of our sins for all eternity. That is why God says about those who believe in His Son as their Savior: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” (God in Hebrews 10:17; NIV)

We have eternal security in Jesus

You will sin in this world (unfortunately) from time to time. This is not good; but that’s not a broken leg, and certainly not a cause for concern that you might lose your salvation through Jesus (John 10:27-28). Every time you sin, rejoice that Jesus has also completely covered this sin for you with His sacrifice. Develop a consciousness of grace and leave the consciousness of sin behind. Sin-consciousness and fear go hand in hand

The devil wants you to look selfishly centered on yourself, on your actions, on your sins. God wants you to look at what Jesus did for you. Jesus paid the highest of all possible prices to free you from all guilt. “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:23-24; NIV)

Romans 3:22-24 - All have sinner and all who believe are freely justified by grace

God always gives you new strength

What do you think is what is driving you spiritually? When you look at yourself and your sins? Is there strength for purification and improvement? No. Only with Jesus can you find all grace and all strength and all reaffirmation to sin less and less.

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17; NIV)

So: always go to your loving Heavenly Father. Not with feelings of guilt (because you are only looking at yourself and your actions), but with grateful joy at what God and Jesus have done for you (because then you are looking at your Creator and your Lord).
