Someone who doubts shouldn’t think that they will receive anything from God. It happens to us according to our faith (Matthew 9:29). Our doubts literally block the free flow from God to us. Someone who believes “yes, but” receives yes, but. Not more.
Think about this helpful warning; this doesn’t come from any life coach, but from God: “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.” (James 1:6-8)
Doubts come from the devil. Do you really want to believe his lies?
So don’t doubt anymore. Doubtful thoughts come from the devil. Do you really want to think the devil’s garbage? Don’t. Believe in the promises of God.
“But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me.”(Psalm 13:6; NLT)
I like the above scripture because the worshiper not only knows and trusts in God’s unfailing love, but also knows that God loves to help and loves to be good to us, His children. For that is God’s glorious being.
Jesus puts it this way: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. ‘Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Jesus in Matthew 7:7-11; NIV)
