You no longer need to be afraid of sudden disaster

September 7, 2017 Reading Time: < 1 minute

Anxiety is usually the cause for sleeping disorders. You live in an apartment above the power-disco ‘Never-ending-Techno-Bass’? Ok, admittedly, your sleep disorder has different causes.

It is so simple that far too many Christians simply do not want to believe it: By accepting Jesus, all our sins are forgiven. A Jesus-believer is never again accused by God (and therefore not condemned), because in Jesus, all our sins were punished.

Proverbs 3:24: "When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet." (NIV)

There is nothing we can do for our salvation. Only what Jesus has done for us counts: “For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.” (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10; NIV) Think about the perfect love with which Jesus meets you.

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:18; NIV)

Recognizing the tremendous love and undeserved grace with which Jesus has completely and forever reconciled you to God, drowns all fear and worries. And where there’s no fear, there is no cause for sleep disorders.

“When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.” (Proverbs 3:24-26; NIV)

Have a pleasant night’s rest.
