Is your home under God’s protection?

September 6, 2017 Reading Time: 2 minutes

God doesn’t want any harm for His beloved children. On the contrary. God has only plans of good for you (Jeremiah 29:11). It is the devil who, too often, steals what God has for you. The devil always wants to destroy everything.

The devil wants to steal your identity as a Jesus-sheep

How can the devil steal something from you? The devil has no real power since Jesus. But what he can do and does extensively: He puts negative thoughts of doubts, worries and fear in your mind … and we, unfortunately, pick them up all too often. That is why God gives us this advice in His Word: renew your thinking. So let us think the right thoughts, the thoughts that come from God. Let us not think of the doubts, anxieties, and worries the devil wants to put in our minds.

✘ Do not confuse the pagan-esoteric, self-centered “positive thinking” with confidence in your Heavenly Father (My loving Heavenly Father helps me).
✘ Do not confuse hope (hopefully God helps me) with steadfast faith (I believe God’s promises for me).

God's protection for home

If you are reconciled with God, you are blameless before and for God. He does not even think about your sins (Hebrews 8:12, Hebrews 10:17).

By Jesus you are righteous for God

You are justified for God through your faith in Jesus as your Savior. “But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:21-24; NIV)

  • Are we reconciled with God because we live perfectly? No. There is only one way to be reconciled with God. Jesus
  • You are righteous in Christ

God also blesses your home

And as a believer in Jesus, who is righteous to God, all promises of God are for you. For example, this one, which places your dwelling under the blessing of God: “The Lord’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous.” (Proverbs 3:33; NIV)

Do you believe that? Believe it.
