It’s a new day. Don’t dwell on the past

March 7, 2018 Reading Time: < 1 minute

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)

Isaiah 43:18-19 says: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (NIV)

So often, we get tangled up in our past mistakes and failures. We think that it’s too late, God could never use us again. But that’s not what the Bible – the Word of God – says. God says that He is making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Does your life ever feel like a wasteland – dry and parched? God is making streams. Not just little puddles, but streams of water.

In Christ, you are a new creation.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17; NIV)

Believe what God says about you as a Christ-believer. You are a new creation. The old is gone! Your past mistakes do not hold you back. God punished all of our sins on the cross in His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, so you would no longer be stuck in your sin, or be held back.

Have a wonderful day, soaking in this beautiful biblical truth.
