Psalm 16:2 reads: “I say to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.'” (NIV)
All good things in our lives come from God. In and of ourselves, we can do nothing.
The job we have, we didn’t get by our smarts, we got it from God.
The family we have, we didn’t get because we deserved it, we got it as a gift from God.
The house, the car, the vacations — they’re all gifts from our heavenly Father.
And as He freely gives to us, we can freely give to others because we know that God’s supply for us is flowing. We don’t need to worry because we were never the ones to get it, earn it, deserve it, anyways. It’s all from Him.
