Going through the valley of despair. The end of grief is around the corner. Don’t give up

September 10, 2018 Reading Time: < 1 minute

Valley of despair

The shepherd leads his sheep with the shepherd’s staff. And with the rod, the shepherd fights off the wild beasts that want to attack his sheep. In this certainty, we can walk with God by our side through every valley of tears.

  • No matter what you go through, God is with you and helping you

Psalm 23:4 (NIV)

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4; NIV)

Your enemy sadness, your enemy lack, your enemy disease… they do not have a chance.

  • God is helping. Of course, also while you wait and suffer. The example of Joseph

Make God the most important thing in your life, make Him the dominant center of your thinking (and not the sadness, not the lack, not the illness). And in the presence of your enemies, God showers you with His blessings:

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” (Psalm 23:5; NIV)
