Understand who is protecting you

August 4, 2019 Reading Time: < 1 minute

Psalm 9:9-10; NIV

In any sport, a good defense is enormously important.

We get to enjoy the best defense in the world; we stand under the protection of the almighty Almighty • Where are God’s angels in tragic accidents and catastrophes? Or: the lack of understanding of God’s glorious nature

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (Jesus in John 16:33; NIV)

All the protection you could ever want

  • Nothing can ever get so bad in our lives that we can’t be soothingly reassured in God’s shadow (“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1; NIV)
  • We accept God’s protection, where we find rest in rough times (“I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'” Psalm 91:2; NIV)
  • God holds us under His wings (“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalm 91:4; NIV)
  • God has sent angels to guard us (“For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways” Psalm 91:11)

Protection from the evil one – 2 Thessalonians 3:3

Of course, you must also accept God’s offered protection. You will not receive anything if God is only your Plan B. God does not respond to needs (otherwise the world would look different, because all human beings have needs); God responds to your faith. So make God Plan A in your life. And: Put your faith in His promises of help and protection over temporary circumstances.
