Protection from the evil one – 2 Thessalonians 3:3

February 12, 2019 Reading Time: 2 minutes

To one person, the devil tells the lie that he doesn’t exist. Another person, the devil tells the lie that devils and demons still have power. Well, both are wrong, of course. The devil lies when he opens his mouth (John 8:44). The devil is the father of lies.

A Jesus-Believer is freed from the curse

Don’t pick up the doubts, worries, and anxieties that devils and demons are trying to put in your mind. Don’t think devil; think God. And rely on God to protect you from the devil and his attacks. Because:

“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” (2 Thessalonians 3:3; NIV)

2 Thessalonians 3:3
Believe the mighty promise of Jesus: “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” (Jesus in Luke 10:19; NIV)

Believe Jesus and not the devil

We are still living in this world, but we as Jesus’ sheep are already citizens of heaven and belong to God; we no longer belong to the world (“you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.” Jesus in John 15:19; NIV)

No devil or demon can really hurt us. Jesus prayed the following for us to God: “I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.” (Jesus in John 17:15; NLT)

Does God listen to Jesus?

What do you think? Will Father God reject Jesus’ request? Of course not. You can and should believe that God wants to protect and God can protect you. You belong to the mighty victor.

Say: Thank you, my God, for your full protection. I stand on Your safe rock and nothing and no one else can get to me to harm me. (or, of course, in your own words)
