Freed from the curse

June 4, 2018 Reading Time: < 1 minute

1 John 2:12 (NIV)

You will no longer be condemned if you believe that Jesus was accused, condemned and punished for you: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans chapter 8, verses 1-2; New International Version)

With His resurrection from death, Jesus once and for all overcame the consequence of sin, the spiritual death (separation from God).

  • Stop condemning yourself. God has forgiven you
  • The good news? No condemnation, no punishment. Forever reconciled with God.

You no longer have to be cursed because Jesus was cursed for you: “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.'” (Galatians 3:13; NIV)

There is nothing left to add to what Jesus has done for you: “I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.” (1 John 2:12; NIV)
