We do not have to convince God to bless us. He wants to give us everything

October 22, 2017 Reading Time: 2 minutes

To the false image of God, which many people have allowed themselves to be convinced of, belongs the idea that God does not want them to be comprehensively blessed. How can such an assumption be justified? With nothing that we read in the Bible about God’s being.

God has sacrificed Jesus for us so that we do not have to go to hell. “Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?” (Romans 8:32; NLT). Just.

We cannot remind ourselves of this truth often enough: God loves us. God is no longer blaming us, who have laid our guilt upon Jesus. We are perfectly blameless, just and holy before God (Colossians 1:22). To the extent that you become aware of this, you will realize that God is not denying you anything. God is not our problem; the devil is our problem. He steals our health, our joy in life, our well-being.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6; NIV)

You can rest assured that God will help you and move all your problems out of the way. He makes the way level for you. Rely on your God. Solving your problems does not happen according to your schedule, but according to God’s (much better) schedule.

Having patience pays off.
Is this always easy?
No.
But God does not give us anything that we can’t endure. He knows us and knows what we can do.
Whine?
Alright, you can whine a little. Ok, enough complaining. Now let’s trust God again full of joyful expectation.

“May the Lord grant all your requests. Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.” (Psalm 20:5-6; NIV)
