We learn in the prophecies of Revelation in the Bible that the Antichrist (who is guided by the devil) will be worshiped by all the inhabitants of the earth as God, “All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast …” (Revelation 13:8; NIV)
In the Bible prophecies in Daniel, we learn that the Antichrist will speak against God: “And he shall speak great words against the most High …” (Daniel 7:25; KJV)
The devil, who – when he was still the beautiful and powerful angel Lucifer – fell into pride and wanted to be worshiped and revered as God (which is why he was thrown out of God’s glorious presence), fulfills his wish through the Antichrist: to be worshiped by men as God (before being defeated by Jesus at His second coming).
We read about this in the Bible prophecy: “He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:4; NLT)
