Nowadays, we don’t need a human high priest, like they did in the Old Testament. We have an eternal high priest who is perfect and will never fail — Jesus.
In the Old Testament, the high priest represented the people to God. If there was a bad high priest, it would affect the entire nation of Israel. Good news: Jesus is perfect! He is a great high priest who has reconciled all those who accept His work on the cross for them. He will never let us down, and He is perfectly representing us to God.
