Think your best days are behind you? Not according to the Bible

August 22, 2018 Reading Time: < 1 minute

"The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day." (Proverbs 4:18; NIV)

Proverbs 4:18 says: “The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” (NIV)

We often think back to the “good old days,” thinking our best days are behind us. But much like the morning sun gets brighter and brighter with every minute, our lives — the path of the righteous through Christ — shines ever brighter.

And if there’s lack, and sickness, and family troubles? They’re like dark clouds trying to hide the sun. But even on cloudy days, the sun produces abundant light — even if there are temporary clouds that will roll away with the wind.

  • Horoscopes, crystals and amulets? Useless. God? All powerful, all mighty, all loving.

As you’re going through troubles and hardships, remember that your loving heavenly Father is not the one making you sick, making you lack, or making you have troubles. God is the Healer, the Helper, the Provider. He’s not out to get you. He’s here to help you — through every storm, no matter how small it might seem, or how overwhelming it might seem. • Did you know? Jesus didn’t make a single person sick.

So as Jesus-believers, we have bright days, filled with His goodness and kindness, to look forward to. Don’t dwell on the past.
