Who created everything? Colossians 1:17 (NIV)

If someone doesn’t know their Bible, they might think that Jesus didn’t appear until 2,000 years ago. Yes, 2,000 years ago, Jesus became man to save as our sinless, flawless sacrificial Lamb for anyone who takes His helpfully outstretched hand, but Jesus (as the person of the Divine Trinity) has always been and always will be.

It is Jesus who created everything (John 1:1-3).

Divine glory in human form

When you realize that Jesus created everything and holds the entire universe together, you get an idea of what His sacrifice means to us because you realize who has been slaughtered and killed for us. You don’t need to add anything to what Jesus has done. You cannot add anything anymore.

  • “in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:14-17; NIV)
  • Jesus “is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Hebrews 1:3; NIV)
  • “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” (John 1:1-3; NIV) The Word is Jesus (John 1:14)

Don’t let anyone minimize your loving, wonderful Jesus. It is only Jesus, no commandment, no ritual, only Jesus
