Have you ever seen a scared dog? When they’re scared of their master, they put their ears down and put their tails between their legs when their owner calls them. If the dog is really scared, it won’t even come. Are you afraid of God? Do you dare to be close and draw near to God?
Coming to God boldly
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16; KJV)
Please understand: the moment you accept Jesus as your Savior, your promissory note, your sin debt, is torn. There is no promissory note anymore. There is no more condemnation. There is no more judgment.
And there is no penalty for you anymore. Why? Because Jesus took your punishment once and for all. This is the sacrifice Jesus made for you (and thank God for me too). “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1; NIV)
So you can and should go to your Creator without any anxiety, without any doubt, without any fear that any of your sins could still stand between you and God.
How do you go to God during your earthly lifetime? In conversation. In prayer. In song. In praise. Reading in the Bible.
Why should you “go” to God? There is all the help and strengthening you will ever need.
