Psalm 121:7 (NIV)

One of the lies from the demonic headquarters: devils and demons have power over Jesus believers. The Bible-based truth: They don’t have control over you: “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4; NIV)

Nightmares do not come from the devil

There is no biblical evidence that nightmares are given to people by devils and demons. You will not find a verse in the Bible that tells us that devils or demons communicate with people in dreams or nightmares. The bad guys cannot give you dreams.

Find the quiet safety of God

Keep your eyes and thoughts away from horror, fantasy and demonic influences. If you watch a horror movie in the evening or play a computer game in which demons occur, you should not be surprised that this can go on in your dreams. You are what you eat, they say. You are, what you watch, is also true.

“The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.” (Psalm 121:5-6; NIV)

Feed your mind not with demonic gloom, but with God’s Word. Read the Bible at bedtime. Talk to God about your day, your wishes. And give all problems and worries to God. For this promise also stands for you in the Bible: “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” (1 Peter 5:7; NLT)

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7; NIV)

Say (!) this: Thank You, God, that you protect and protect me around the clock. Give me therefore safe, restful sleep.
