Micah 7:18 says: “Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love.” (NLT)

Micah 7:18

Gos does not delight in punishing sin

God does not delight in punishment; God delights in showing unfailing love to His creation – His people. The Bible also tells us: “God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood–to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished (Romans 3:25; NIV; emphasis added by me)

God loves you so much, He sent His beloved Son to take the punishment in your place. As we read in Romans 3:25, He even left the sins committed beforehand unpunished because He would rather punish His perfect Son who never sinned than to punish sinful man for their sins. That’s how much He loves you. He’d rather give up His own Son and put your punishment on Him than to make you pay for your own sins.

What’s stopping you from believing in a God who loves you unfailingly, unconditionally? Let His Word wash away all doubts and fears. Take a bath in the Father’s loving words.
