Peace with God

If you believe in Jesus as your Savior, then you are holy and perfectly righteous before God (Colossians 1:22). You no longer have even the tiniest grain of guilt because Jesus took all your guilt about 2,000 years ago once and for all.

Justified through Faith

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:1-2; NIV)

In the world, we have to do something if we want to get something. It’s very different in our reconciliation with God. It is given to us. We have nothing to show that we can boast about. And the nice thing is, we don’t have to: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9; NIV)
