In the Old Covenant, animal blood was shed to cover people’s sins. But that only brought temporary forgiveness of sins. “And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood.” (Hebrews 13:12; NIV)
“Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.” (Hebrews 13:15; NIV)
So don’t deny the sacrifice that Jesus made for you. Praise and thank Him. Because that is what the New Covenant is about; that we place ourselves steadfastly in the grace given to us by Jesus: “See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” (Jesus in Revelation 3:8; NIV)
