Root of discouragement

Don’t put annoying or frustrating circumstances at the center of your thinking; instead, place God who stands by you and helps you at the center of your thinking. He comforts you, He protects you, He helps you. Believe the promises of God full of faith, and you will have inner peace.

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3; NLT)

For example, if you are discouraged because you have financial shortages, then at the root of such a state of mind is your wrong thinking that God doesn’t provide you with everything you need. (Matthew 6:30-33).

Renew your thinking. Believe the promises of God; He helps you.

  • “Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.” (Psalm 27:14; NLT)
  • “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7; KJV) • Give all your worries to God
  • “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (God in Isaiah 41:10; NIV) • When there’s nothing left to say

Get rid of the dark cloud of discouragement that sucks up your zest for life by standing on God’s promises to bring you back to the light.
