Psalm 62:6-7 (NIV)

Of course there are clouds in the sky every once in a while. And sometimes they pile up into huge, dark, menacing sail ships. And sometimes it thunders and pours and rumbles in our lives, and we get scared.

Instead of whining and looking for an umbrella, we rely on the help of our God in the pouring rain: “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.” (Psalm 138:7; NIV)

No rain, no storm can take me away from my faith in You, You tremendously beautiful God. Because You help, You protect, You lead me out of every affliction victorious.

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” (Jesus in Matthew 7:24-25; NIV)

Say (!) this: Strengthen my confidence in You. Help me to make my faith stronger and stronger with each passing day. Let me never forget that You are my God, who protects and cares for me and in whom I am safe. What a wonderful God You are (or, of course, in your own words).
