What was once written about the Israelites also applies to us Jesus-believers because: “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” (Galatians 3:29; NIV)
Therefore, every Jesus-sheep will come out of the dark tunnel of sadness or despair with the help of God. And every Jesus-sheep will be led by God out of the seemingly never-ending valley of tears into free, rejuvenating, refreshing land. And each of us will experience this:
“In that day they will say, ‘Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.'” (Isaiah chapter 25, verse 9; NIV)
But it’s taking time.
Yes, sometimes it takes time. Then we wait. We know who we are waiting for.
- And so I wait for You… through all the deserts of sadness, I wait for You
- Jesus tends His flock like a Shepherd
But it’s been a really long time.
Hang on, we’ll ask God. Dear God, what’s going on? Is Your promised help coming? “Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” (God in Habakkuk 2:3; NIV)
Say (!) this: God, give me strength and patience, so that I can wait calmly and without panic and anxiety. Besides, I don’t mind if Your help comes soon. But I know You do everything better than good for me. I thank You for Your help (or, of course, in your own words).
