You consist of spirit (your true self), soul (feelings, mind, memories, etc), and body (your physical body).

Through faith, which is rooted in your spirit, you tell your soul the truth — not the other way around. Your soul (feelings, emotions, etc.) may feel defeated and exhausted, but in your spirit (your true self), you know through faith that you are victorious through Christ. An example from the Bible:

“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” (Psalm 42:12; NIV)

What is faith? And how do you strengthen it?

God is able to do more than we can even imagine

Feelings of sadness or hopelessness come from your soul. But by faith, you know that God will work everything out in your favor, and you trust God’s Word more than your feelings. • If God is for us, who can be against us? – Romans 8:31-33

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”(Ephesians 3:20; NLT)
