It’s not about our feelings; it’s all about our faith. We do not see God, we believe. We do not (necessarily always) feel God, but we believe. It happens to us according to our faith, as Jesus emphasized.
And, for example, we believe this glorious promise from God to us: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (God in Hebrews chapter 13:5; NIV)
