Colossians 2:9 (NIV)

You can see God

Humans are curious. That’s good. Where does our curiosity come from? It is given to us by God. That’s why God is glad when we want to know more about Him. What is God like? Look at Jesus. Read about Jesus in the Bible. Think about Jesus. Then you recognize God more and more. Because God’s essence is visible in Jesus and in His behavior.

Jesus — the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15)

“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form” (Colossians 2:9; NIV)

Man-made religion (which also called for the death of Jesus, John 19:15) says that God is against us, and it’s best to stay far away from God for fear of punishment. Jesus, however, has shown us God as He really is, as our heavenly Father, who loves us all. Read the account Jesus gives; in Luke 15, verses 11-32. Think about what you read. The father described there is God; and we are the prodigal son.

Isaiah 53:6 says: “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (NIV) God laid all of our iniquity on Jesus at the cross. Do you believe it?
