One of the lies the devil spreads about God is that God doesn’t care about us, and that He is an old, ill-tempered avenger who is just out to get us. This could not be further from the truth.

God suffers when we suffer. God is sad when we don’t want to listen to His advice.

“And if you still refuse to listen, I will weep alone because of your pride.” (Jeremiah 13:17; NLT)

God is not somewhere out in the universe far away from you.

John 10:10 - The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy

God is with you. And God wants you to be well: “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (Jesus in John 10:10; NIV)

Why does God tell us what behaviors are sins? Not because He doesn’t want us to enjoy life. But because God knows that every sin harms us. And God, as our loving Heavenly Father, does not want us to suffer the consequences of our sins.

Sins deserve punishment. The question you need to answer for yourself: Who does God punish for your sins? You? Or Jesus?

Has God often wept over you? About me, He’s cried streams of tears. But don’t fall for the lie that God would not love you anymore. You can never fall out of relationship with God as the Lamb of Jesus. What a happy message!
