Psalm 92:6 (NIV)

Lying in bed the other day, I was trying to come up with a word to describe God. The word “tremendous” kept coming to mind.

Yes, God is tremendous in every way.

“How great are your works, Lord, how profound your thoughts!” (Psalm 92:6; NIV)

Will we ever understand God completely?

I used to think that one day in eternity (we have more than enough time) we would fully understand and comprehend God. But that will never happen – never in entirety, anyways. We will always discover new things about our glorious God (that’s why we will never be bored in eternity).

“How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!” (Psalm 139:17; NIV)

Tremendous love

God is love and justice. God doesn’t overlook sin; He punishes every single sin. Question is: Does He punish them in us?

God loves us so much that He became man to be flogged and slaughtered, so that we are cleansed and sanctified once for all by His sacrifice; Hell is no longer an issue (Romans 8:1; Hebrews 10:10; Colossians 1:22): “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8; NIV)
