Deuteronomy 10:14

Jesus (One of the three Persons of the Trinity and therefore God) created everything (John 1:3, John 1:14). There is nothing that Jesus did not create. And not only that; it is Jesus who holds the entire creation together (Colossians 1:17). You “have to” understand what a tremendous majesty Jesus is.

“To the Lord your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it.” (Deuteronomy 10:14; NIV)

And think about it: This Jesus, the highest and most powerful majesty in the universe, became man to save you.

Jesus reconciles us, saves us and makes us holy

Jesus was spit on, tortured, beaten, accused, and put to death so that we could be exalted, never going to hell, but for all eternity (it is never-ending, even though we can’t totally imagine it) can live in the literally paradisiacal presence of God — if we accept what Jesus did for us, without if’s, and’s, or but’s.

“But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation” (Colossians 1:22; NIV)

And there are people who then (misunderstanding God’s glorious nature) dare to talk down this mighty Jesus by spreading the lie that we must add something to the ultimate sacrifice God has made in Jesus. After Jesus, no sacrifice is needed anymore. “And God wants us to be sanctified once and for all by the sacrifice of the Body of Jesus Christ.” (Hebrews 10:10; NLT) • What does the Bible say about food rules?
